Avery Archer (Parsons) is the product of a hasty holiday elopement, which ended just as quickly as it began. She was just a baby when her mother fell ill, only two years old when she died. Raised by her brother and his mother, Avery learned quickly that sometimes you can choose your family, finding it with best friend Madalynne Alvarez. After a short but successful pop music career, she is quite satisfied with her new career as a director and with the the life that she's built with her husband and three children.
