The girl staggered out of the ice cave, naked and shivering, blinking in the bright sunshine. She was at the end of her physical strength and her spirit was weakening but she was determined to survive. She fell to her knees and was wondering how she would ever get up again when she heard the sound of wings above her head and two hands took hers and helped her to her feet.
Her eyes were misty with tears and she was really only aware of colour – black? No – green - but so dark that it appeared black until the sunlight caught it and then there was a glorious flash of brilliant green…feathers?
Strong arms enfolded her and she began to feel warmth and strength pouring back into her battered body. A moment of panic – was this creature sent to take her onwards – into the next world? She was reassured by the touch of warm skin and the sound of a strongly beating human heart when she laid her head against his chest. This was a man as well as an angel.
Warm and safe for the first time in her life, she began to relax, soothed by his gentle hands stroking her hair, his lips brushing her cheek. Her heart began to pound and the butterflies of desire fluttered in her chest. She scarcely noticed the sharp pricking sensation in her neck and the little drops of blood were swiftly kissed away.
A dark angel had claimed his soul mate for eternity and the Scissor Witch was born
