The last straw that broke the camel’s back
Divorce papers.
Not the 13th wedding anniversary present Autumn had expected.
She had been the one to file for divorce, because enough was enough. Enough fighting, enough misunderstanding, enough walking on eggshells and enough jealousy. The fire was out and all that was left were ashes on the ground.
"This is for the better", Autumn continued telling herself as she changed her last name back to her maiden name. The last step, was to take off her wedding ring. And immediately she felt weirdly naked. Something was missing.
It was the end of her life of being part of the Mcmahon family and at the same time a new beginning.
